No one can fault me for refusing to steal public funds – Obi
Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), has rejected Bola Tinubu’s recent remarks criticizing him as “Mr. Stingy” in his speech.
The statement was made on Sunday during The Peoples Townhall, which was hosted by Channels Television and its partners.
Recall that Tinubu had said in a recent campaign speech that Obi had watched his people suffer and had saved the State’s money rather than helping them.
Obi, however, disregarded the comments, claiming that no one could criticize him for refusing to take taxpayer money.
‘Go and see whether there is anywhere a kobo of Anambra State money is missing.’ Saving has now become an issue. When people have stolen all the money and impoverished the country, you are now questioning a man who left the money without anybody telling me to leave it and go,” Peter Obi said.
