The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), said that taking the position of vice presidential candidate to any presidential candidate will result in the demise of the NNPP.
Kwankwaso announced this in a conversation with newsmen while in Gombe State to launch the NNPP’s state headquarters and meet with elected members of the party.
The former Kano State Governor stated that given the NNPP’s rise to prominence in such a short period of time, anything short of his presidency would signal the party’s demise.
He said: “The primary issue from the debate with the Labour Party was who becomes the president if the parties merge,” some of our delegates believed that there should be a criterion based on age, qualification, office held, performance, and so on.
Of course, the other party would not want that. The majority of the people there believe that the president must travel there (South-east).
If I decide to be the vice-presidential candidate for anyone in this country, the NNPP will implode because the party is built on what we’ve built over the previous thirty years.
I worked as a public servant for seventeen years; that’s 47 years of extremely serious hard work.
