NDDC official abducted by Gunmen in Imo
Kingsley Okorafor, a prominent officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, was abducted by gunmen in the early hours of Saturday near his home in the Umuadara Umulogho autonomous community in the Obowo local government area of Imo state.
To news reporters in Owerri, the community’s traditional ruler Eze Patrick Uwalaka verified the occurrence.
On Friday night, Okorafor was kidnapped as he was making his way home from the vigil for late Eze Innocent Anyawu, the traditional ruler of the Ndihu autonomous community in Obowo LGA, whose funeral is scheduled for Saturday, July 16, 2022.
From the vigil to his home, he was allegedly being followed by the kidnappers before being taken hostage and having his car abandoned.
