More than five governors and other top leaders working for Peter Obi – Labour party
The Labour Party has claimed that more than five governors and other influential figures are backing its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2023 elections.
At a weekend sensitization event for LP members in Ado Ekiti, the party’s deputy national chairman, Bashiru Apapa, said this.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the current ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, are reportedly terrified of Obi’s recent popularity, according to Apapa, who said that Obi’s presidential campaign is receiving overt and covert support on a daily basis across the country.
Apapa, however, asserted that the party will withhold the governors’ names for the time being.
“There are some people coming up to support Obi,” he continued, “certain leaders up to heads of state are in.”
“A number of governors—more than five of them—support the party below. At this time, we don’t wish to mention their names.
“Everyone is now supporting the LP due of its popularity; undoubtedly, the APC and PDP are terrified.”
