Kenya: William Ruto believes he will win the Kenyan presidential elections.
Kenya’s outgoing Deputy President William Ruto expressed confidence in winning the elections, claiming that the east African country is a “democratic nation” and that the vote will be free and fair.
He said: “I know there are those who believe that putting the current President and the current leader of the opposition on one side makes it unassailable. Nothing could be further from the truth, as Kenyans can cut through such a network and still make an informed decision. And I am certain that I will win this election.
In the most recent presidential election, an appeal by Odinga, who believed his victory had been stolen amid high tensions, resulted in the election being annulled by the Supreme Court—a first in Africa—and then rescheduled.
But, according to Ruto, this will not be the case this time.
