Adamu Alero, a notorious bandit lord, has been given the traditional title of Sarki Fulani Yandoto by Alhaji Garba Marafa, the Emir of Yandoto in Zamfara State.

According to a story from the Lindaikejiblog, the turbaning ceremony took place on July 16, 2022, on a Saturday.

Alero was raised in the main town despite being born in the Tsafe Local Government Area’s Yankuzo village.

The 45-year-old terrorist is in charge of a squad that conducts attacks on the towns of Faskari and Kankara in Katsina State, as well as Tsafe and Gusau in Zamfara.

The emirate’s recent local peace process arrangement with the bandits terrorizing Tsafe Local Government Area was the basis for the decision to bestow the title on the banditry leader.

A source who requested anonymity told the publication that “Aleru was in the vanguard of the recent peace efforts in the two emirates of Yandoto and Tsafe.”

The Sunday Tribune source also disclosed that the bandit leader recently met with stakeholders and elders to discuss a peace agreement.

“Aleru agreed to stop attacking the towns and villages in the emirate at the conclusion of the conference.” The source claimed that he had also consented to individuals being able to farm.
