Former star for Tottenham and Real Madrid, Gareth Bale, has declared his retirement from club and international football.
After helping Wales advance to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Bale announced his retirement at the age of 33.
Los Angeles FC, an American Major League Soccer team, was his last club.
“After long and thoughtful contemplation, I announce my immediate retirement from club and international football,” Bale said in part of a lengthy statement on Monday.
“So I move on with anticipation for the next stage of my life. A time of change and transition, an opportunity for a new challenge,” he added.
