Fresh update on Kubwa building collapse
A two-story building in Kubwa collapsed, trapping two people underneath. Their deaths have been confirmed.
The incident, which occurred on Thursday at 11:25 p.m., was reportedly brought on by changes made to the building plan.
According to information provided by our correspondent, the building owner converted a residential building into a multipurpose building without using the foundation of the original building.
According to reports, the ground floor was home to businesses while the second level housed apartments with three and two bedrooms, respectively.
Eyewitnesses report that two people who were trapped died, while four people were pulled out of the rubble alive. Authorities have not yet released a situation report.
recalled that rescue efforts were underway at the scene of the accident as a joint team from the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, FCT Fire Service, and Nigerian Police were on the ground attempting to free the trapped victims.
