Chimamanda Adichie: “I can’t wait for Peter Obi to become Nigeria’s next president.”
Peter Obi is in every Nigerian Mouth.
Famous author Chimamanda Adichie has expressed her excitement for Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, to be elected as Nigeria’s next president.
Adichie made this statement in a lengthy Facebook post on Tuesday to celebrate Mr. Obi’s 61st birthday and to express her admiration for his passion for learning.
I look forward to voting for you and your running companion, Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, on February 25, 2023, with “personal pride in you and hope for what Nigeria can become,” Adichie said.
Chimamanda said she is motivated by Obi’s intellectual curiosity and his sincere love of learning, which have demonstrated his optimism for Nigeria.
Her post read: “I remember how you regaled Daddy and Mummy with your stories until we started joking about your obsession with the GDP of Malaysia. But your obsession spoke of hope: your hope for Nigeria, your belief in what Nigeria could be. A belief that has always been practical, grounded in numbers and in reality.”
