Breaking: Boko Haram takes over Kuje prison in Abuja, Free members.
On Tuesday night, a group of terrorists detonated bombs outside the Kuje Medium Custodial Center in Abuja, the nation’s capital, in an apparent attempt to enter the building and release some of the inmates.
At around 10:25 p.m., a high-calibre bomb detonated, followed by a second and third blast, as well as random gunshots, sending the locals into a state of terror.
The Nigerian Correctional Service NCoS received intelligence reports that one of its facilities would be attacked, according to multiple sources who also corroborated this.
Officials were not immediately available for comments on Tuesday night.
