Africans have accepted our offer – Russia
According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, African countries are interested in doing business with Russia.
This week, the Minister traveled extensively in Africa to demonstrate Russia’s commitment to the region.
The Russians also want to strengthen alliances in the midst of the Ukraine conflict.
Lavrov arrived in Egypt on Sunday, where he met with top officials including Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri and Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboulgheit.
Lavrov will also visit Ethiopia, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
“The Africans are responding.” They would like to have us. “We never taught them anything, but rather helped them overcome their problems so that they could live in their country the way they wanted to,” Lavrov told Russian state media before embarking on his tour.
He also stated that, unlike the United States of America, Russia does not lecture Africans on how to run their businesses, claiming that Americans are selfish and only look after their own interests.
